Cleveland Indians Baseball Company owns the Cleveland Indians
baseball team and manages its home ballpark, Jacobs Field. The
Indians acquired in 1986 by brothers Richard and David Jacobs
with a turnaround strategy in mind led the Indians to the American
League pennants in 1995 and 1997.
In 1998 the Indians won the AL Central division but lost their
bid for the pennant to the New York Yankees. CEO Richard Jacobs,
controls 99.9% of the company's voting power. The team was sold
to a private investor so is no longer traded, this share has
no value other than as a collectible. |
